/ Over 50 and Out of Work

In early 2010, Susan Sipprelle and Sam Newman began working on the online multimedia project Over 50 and Out of Work. We traveled across the country and conducted video interviews with 100 Americans over the age of 50 who had lost their jobs in the Great Recession. We also interviewed numerous experts, including economists, academics, researchers, on the topic of unemployment among the 50-plus demographic.  In June 2011, we testified before the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pension Committee about the project’s findings at the committee’s request.
